    Want to Study MBBS Abroad

    The number of Indian youth who study medicine and health sciences, also known as MBBS, has increased throughout time. The number of students applying to study MBBS overseas today is significantly more than it was a few years ago.
    According to the Medical Council of India (MCI), a total of 542 public and private colleges will offer a combined 79,855 seats to students who pass the now mandated National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).
    While each country would have its own set of rules and eligibility criteria for international students wanting to pursue MBBS abroad, today we will discuss the general eligibility requirements for Indian students seeking to study an MBBS in one of the best overseas institution.
    Academic Requirements
    Candidates looking to pursue MBBS abroad are required to satisfy the below mentioned academic requirements.
    · The student must have completed his 10+2 from a recognized board.
    · The student must have studied English as a required subject during his 10+2 years and must have an aggregate percentage of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology of at least 50% or higher.
    · Additionally, Students are also required to qualify the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). Even if the student intends to complete his medical studies overseas, this is still mandatory.
    · At the time of admission to Foreign Medical Universities, the student will also be needed to present an Eligibility Certificate issued by the Medical Council of India.
    Age Requirements
    The student must have reached the age of 17 as of December 31 of the year in which he is applying for admission. There is no upper age limit for MBBS applications from abroad.
    Medical Requirements
    A medical certificate showing that the applicant is free of any contagious diseases must be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission.
    Admission process for studying MBBS abroad
    Once the candidate has met the criteria for eligibility. He can proceed to the following phase, which is the MBBS study abroad application process. To begin the admissions process, candidates must choose their desired MBBS university and complete the online international student application form.
    In order to further reinforce their academic profile, applicants will be expected to attach a number of documents as part of the application process.
    MBBS Specializations
    Candidates who plan to pursue medical education abroad should be aware that the MBBS programme comprises five years of clinical studies at various stages, including but not limited to pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical subject study, as well as one year of clinical rotations (internship). Specializations therefore only come into play after MBBS courses.
